As Graphic Technical Director you will be in charge of ensuring the technical quality of the graphic elements produced by the teams under your supervision (technical artists) for game projects using game engines.
You will work alongside the Programming Technical Director to set in place the appropriate pipeline/tools/Production processes to allow an efficient production and optimize productivity from the team and reach the visual quality target.
You will be the main point of contact for the leadership team for graphics technical topics, which includes embrace the game vision while challenging its feasibility.
You will be responsible for your team to document the guidelines for the Art team’s production and enforce the compliance and respect of the technical production constraints related to graphics.
In order to do so, you will build your technical crew and work with the producer to set your recommended structure in place based on the ambitions of the project.
You will assist the art teams to achieve the required graphic quality for special effects, fluid simulations, shaders and lighting using mostly Unreal and possibly Unity. Finally, you will also be responsible for the technical development and coaching of your technical artists team and, if interested, VFX and lighting artists.
To achieve these objectives, as a director, you will work closely with the other directors and managers and be involved in the necessary leads meetings or discussions where you will contribute with your expertise and be part of the project level decision making.
This will apply to the projects but also for the long term strategy of our studios.
You might be asked to share your knowledge within the company to strengthen the technical practices and processes in the group.
